This article is an article where the content is about how to solve the problems in the Shin Nihongo no Kiso I book. Precisely, it is a problems exist in Chapter 11 Section B Part 3 in page 89. The main focus of the problem set available is to ask how many item available. There are specific format to ask this kind of question. The following is the grammar pattern for it :

Kanji :
Question :	名詞	＋	が	＋	何「助数詞」	＋	ありますか
Answer :	数・数字「助数詞」	＋	が	＋	あります
Hiragana :
Question :	めいし	＋	が	＋	なん「じょすうし」	＋	ありますか
Answer :	かず・すうし「じょすうし」	＋	が	＋	あります
Romaji :
Question :	meishi	＋	ga	＋	nan [jyosuushi]	＋	ありますか
Answer :	kazu sushi [jyosuushi]	＋	ga	＋	arimasu
	Meaning :
Question :	How many noun [counter] available (exist)?
Answer :	number [counter] available (exist)

Example :

Kanji :

鉛筆が　何本　ありますか?

…三本　あります。

Hiragana :

えんぴつが　なんぼん　ありますか ?

…さんぼん　あります。

Romaji :

Enpitsu ga nanbon arimasuka ?

… sanbon arimasu.

Meaning :

How many piece of pencil available (exist) ?

… There are three pencils available (exist).

 

The above example is asking how many pencils available. The counter for the object of pencil is ‘bon’ or ‘pon’ depends on the word attached to it before. That counter is for a long object such as pencil. So, using the above grammar pattern, the following is the answer sheet of the problems or questions exist in Chapter 11 Section B Part 3 in page 89 :

Kanji :

切手が　何歳　ありますか。

。。。５枚　あります。

Hiragana :

きってが　なんさい　ありますか。

。。。５まい　あります。

Romaji :

Kitte ga nansai arimasuka.

… gomai arimasu.

Meaning :

How many stamp available ?.

… 5 pieces available.

 

2. Answer :

Kanji :

自動車が　何台　ありますか。

。。。二台　あります。

Hiragana :

じどうしゃが　なんだい　ありますか。

。。。にだい　あります。

Romaji :

Jidousha ga nandai arimasuka.

… Nidai arimasu.

Meaning :

How many car available ?.

… Two (cars) available.

 

3. Answer :

Kanji :

封筒が　何枚　ありますか。

。。。九枚　あります。

Hiragana :

ふうとうが　なんまい　ありますか。

。。。きゅうまい　あります。

Romaji :

Fuutou ga nanmai arimasuka.

… Kyuumai arimasu.

Meaning :

How many envelope available ?.

… Nine pieces available.

4. Answer :

Kanji :

コンピューターが　何台　ありますか。

。。。四台　あります。

Hiragana :

コンピューターが　なんだい　ありますか。

。。。よんだい　あります。

 

Romaji :

Konpyu-ta- ga nandai arimasuka.

… Yondai arimasu.

Meaning :

How many computers available ?.

… Four (computers) available.
