There are a specific names for each of the finger that we have in our hands. There are five types of fingers which is exists in our hand. There are also specific names of those finger in Japanese language. Yubi (ゆび| 指) itself is actually means finger in general term in Japanese language.

Thumb is called oyayubi which means the parents finger. It is thumb which is considered as the main or primary finger above all of the other fingers which is similar as parents that holds the main or primary role in the family.
Hitosashiyubi is the index finger in Japanese language. It means the finger that is used to point at a person. Occasionally in general manners, we uses the index finger to point on something including person.
Nakayubi is the middle finger. The meaning of naka yubi is actually similar with the name of the finger in the language which also describes its position. It is in the middle.
The ring finger which is occasionally in several places is used to put a ring such as wedding ring is called kusuriyubi in Japanese language. Kusuri means medicine in Japanese language. It is told that seldom lot of ancient physicians use their ring finger to mix their medicine with water with herbal medicines, powders ointments and apply it to their patients.
Koyubi is the name of the litte finger in Japanese language. The name itself resembles it size similar in every other language. Ko means small in Japanese language. So, the little finger is called koyubi in Japanese language.
