Kanji 一月 (ichigatsu)
This is the first example of kanji一 in on-yomi or Mandarin reading Method. The word that is assembled in this example is ichinen. This word exists by combining two kanji together. The first one as we know is kanji 一 which means one and the other kanji is 年which symbolizes year. So, literally if both kanji were combined it will have a meaning of one year. And the word itself will be pronounced ichinen since kanji 年 also have to be read in on-yomi which is pronounced as ‘nen’.
