Japanese Language Proficiency Test Dokkai Bunpou Part VI Level 4 Year 1995.

Japanese Language Proficiency Test or Nihongo Nouryoku Shiken (日本語能力試験) is one of the means which is used on measuring the ability to speak Japanese Language. Below is the questions which is shown in the 1995’s Japanese Language Proficiency Test Dokkai Bunpou Part VI Level 4.

Part VI Read the following sentences and then answer the question. Please choose one best answer from the following answer 1 2 3 4.

1.きのう ともだちから ここのつ コップを かりました。 きょういつつ かえしました。

Sentence Romaji : Kinou tomodachi kara kokonotsu koppu wo karimashita. Kyou Itsutsu kaeshimashita.

Meaning : Yesterday I borrowed nine cups from my friend. Today I returned five.

          Question :

1.      いまいくつ コップを もっつ いますか。

Romaji : Ima ikutsu koppu wo motte imasu.

Meaning : How many cup do I have now ?

Answer :

          1.みっつ 2.よっつ 3.むっつ   4.やっつ

          Romaji :

1. Mittsu 2. Yottsu 3. Muttsu 4. Yattsu

Meaning :

1. Three 2. Four 3. Six 4. Eight.

Answer : 2

Since, The subject borrowed 9 cups, in the above sentence, kokonotsu means 9 cups and the subject only returned 5 of them, the subject has four cups left in his or her possession now.

2.Aさん「かぜを ひいて おとといから がっこうを やすんで います。」 いしゃ「この くすりを のんで、あしたまで やすんで いて ください。」

Sentence

Romaji :

A-san [Kaze wo hiite ototoi kara gakkou wo yasunde imasu.]

Isha [Kono kusuri wo nonde, ashita made yasunde ite kudasai.]

Meaning :

A-  san [Since I got cold I took off school from yesterday]

Doctor [Drink this medicine, please took off until tomorrow]

Question :

1.ぜんぶで なんにち やすみますか。」

Romaji : Zenbu de nannichi yasumimasuka ?

Meaning : Overall how many days (the speaker) took off ?

Answer :

          1.二日 2.三日 3.四日 4.五日

          Romaji :

1. Futsuka 2. Mikka 3. Yokka 4. Itsuka

Meaning :

1. Two days 2. Three days 3. Four days 4. Five days.

Answer : 2

A-san in the conversation has already stated that he has already took off from school since yesterday. It means, he has already took off two days. The doctor advised A-san to take off until tomorrow to get some rest. So, A-san will take an additional one day to get him or herself off the school. It will be total three days off from school as defined in the second option.

3.いまよるの 11時です。きょうは しごとが いそがしかったです。9時に ばんごはんを たべて おふろに  はいりました。いつもは おふろに はいってから 7時ごろ ごはんを たべます。おそくまで おきて いません。

Sentence

Romaji :

Ima yoru no 11ji desu. Kyou wa shigoto ga isogashikatta desu. 9ji ni ban gohan wo tabete ofuro ni hairimashita. Itsumo wa ofuro ni haitte kara 7ji goro gohan wo tabemasu. Osoku made okite imasen.

Meaning :

Right now 11 o’clock at night. Today (I was) busy with work. At 9 o’clock I eat dinner and entered the (Japanese) bathtub. Usually (I) always (I) eat dinner at 7 o’clock after entering the (Japanese) bathtub. (I) don’t stay up until late at night.

          Question :

1.ただしい ものは どれですか。

Romaji : Tadashii mono wa dore desuka.

Meaning : Which one is the correct one ?

Answer :

          1.いつもは もっと はやく ねます。

2.いつもは 9時ごろ ごはんを たべます。

3.いつもは 7時ごろまで しごとを します。

4.ごはんの あとで おふろに はいります。

          Romaji :

    1. Itsumo wa motto hayaku nemasu.
    2. Itsumo wa 9ji goro gohan wo tabemasu.
    3. Itsumo wa 7ji goro made shigoto wo shimasu.
    4. Gohan no atode ofuro ni hairimasu.

Meaning :

    1. (I) always go to bed early.
    2. (I) always eat at 9 o’clock.
    3. (I) always work until 7 o’clock.
    4. I get in ofuro after I ate.

Answer : 1

The second option is wrong since the writer always eat at 7 o’clock after entering ofuro or taking a bath. But today since the writer came late, the writer had a chance to eat at 9 o’clock.

The third option is also wrong since he doesn’t always work until 7 o’clock. It is on the contrary with the above passage, the writer always in a normal situation have dinner at 7 o’clock after entering ofuro or taking a bath.

The fourth option is also wrong. If it is in a normal situation the writer really take a bath first and after take a bath or entering ofuro the writer take dinner at 7 o’clock. But from the above passage we can take the information that today since the writer came late from the office the writer first of all take dinner at 9 o’clock and then the writer take a bath or entering ofuro.

The first option is true since it is stated in the last sentence in the above paragraph that the writer don’t stay up late night as a habitual action.
