Simple Negative Sentence Past Tense Form

One of the simple form of sentence that can be made is this kind of form below :

Subject + Predicate (Noun)+ではありませんでした。

For an example :

1.
At the time she worked at the hospital, grandmother was not a nurse.

びょういんではたらいてときにそぼはかんごふではありませんでした。

Byouin de hataraite toki ni sobo wa kangofu dewa arimasendeshita.

2.
Grandfather was not a soldier.

そふはぐんじんではありませんでした。

Sofu wa gunjin dewa arimasendeshita.
