That grammar pattern is the pattern for the sentence as the answer of the questions. The pattern is in pair of question and answer. The question is asking for the existence of a noun. Either it is a non-living thing or a living one. On the other hand, the answer is giving the hint for answering the questions. It will give information about the place of the noun being asked in the question. The following is the grammar pattern for informing the location of the existence of a thing and also the possible answer for it :

Pattern :

Kanji : 名詞 どこ + ありますか・いますか
Hiragana : めいし どこ + ありますか・いますか
Romaji : meishi wa doko + Ni arimasuka / imasuka

Romaji :

The example above is showing a pair of question and answer for informing the location of a noun. In the context of the above example, the noun is a non-living thing. So, the suffix for informing the existence is ‘aru’ or ‘arimasu’ for the polite form. The question above is an example for asking where is the location of the refrigerator. It exist in the kitchen as in the answer of the example above. Another example exist as follows :

Example :

Kanji :

ほんぶに います。

Romaji :

Seishain wa doko ni imasuka.

Honbu ni imasu.

Meaning :

(They are) in the main office.

The pattern above is also an example for informing the existence of a noun. But the context is different because it is informing about the existence of a living thing.
