Kanji       : (この・その・あの) +名詞 +は +いくら      +ですか

Hiragana    : (この・その・その) +めいし +は +いくら      +ですか

Romaji      : (Kono・Sono・Ano)  +meishi +wa +ikura       +desuka

Meaning     : How much is (this ・ that) thing (item) ?

The above example is using demonstrative pronoun ‘kono’(この)to point out an item which is near not only the person which ask the question but also the person which answer it.   Second Example Kanji

Question    : How much does that washing machine costs ?

Answer      : (It is) 70.000 yen.

The above example uses ‘ano’(あの) to point out the washing mashine which is asked. The demonstrative pronoun ‘ano’(あの) is used since the washing machine is far from not only the person who asks but also the person who answer the question. As we can see that all of the demonstrative pronouns must be followed directly by the item name and then followed with particle は indicating the subject of the sentence.
