We are going to learn how to give an answer based on the problems which is given in the book of Minna no Nihongo. The answer relates on what times do we go to the exact location which is defined in the problems. We have to make a interrogative sentence based on the location given in the question asking when do we want to go based on the exact time which is also given in the problems. The time given in the problems can be in an exact date such as 11th of June or a normal time marker such as tomorrow, next month, etc. When asking time, we can use いつ in a sentence which means when. It can be considered as an interrogative pronoun since it is replacing time that is being asked in form of a question. In chapter 5 page 42 in Minna no Nihongo, we are going to learn how to do it. Below is the pattern of the sentence :

Interactive Question

Kanji        : いつ + 「場所」  + へ 行きますか

Hiragana : いつ  + 「ばしょ」 + へ いきますか

Romaji     : Itsu  Basho」     + へ ikimasuka

Meaning  : When are you going to + Location

Example

Kanji       :いつ  在外 へ 行きますか

Hiragana:いつ ざいがい へ いきますか

Romaji    Itsu zaigai e ikimasuka

Meaning When do (you) go abroad ? Possible Answer

Kanji        : 「時間」行きます。

Hiragana : 「じかん」+[に]+いきます。

Romaji     : Jikan+ 「ni」 ikimasu.

Meaning  :  I go atTime

Example

Kanji        : 来週 に 行きます。

Hiragana : らいしゅう いきます。

Romaji     : Raishuu ikimasu.

Meaning  : (I) will go next week.

Where location can be a specific location like school, hospital, name of place like Tokyo, Mount Fuji or Narita Airport, etc. And the time given can be tomorrow, next, 3rd of next month, etc. Below are the sample interrogative sentence with answers which is paired as an example to answer the problems in the book.

Question :

Kanji        : いつ 美術館 へ 行きますか

Hiragana : いつ びじゅつかん へ いきますか

Romaji     : Itsu bijyutsukan e ikimasuka.

Meaning  : When do (you) go the art museum ?

Answer :

Kanji        : 明日に 行きます

Hiragana : あした いきます

Romaji     : Ashita  ikimasu.

Meaning  : I go tomorrow.

Below are the answers from the question which is stated in book :

1.   Question :

Kanji        : いつ さくら大学へ 行きますか

Hiragana : いつ さくらだいがく へ いきますか

Romaji     : Itsu sakura daigaku e ikimasuka ?

Meaning  : When do (you) go Sakura University ?

Answer    :

Kanji        : 9月14日に 行きます。

Hiragana : くがつじゅうよっか に いきます。

Romaji     : Kugatsu jyuuyokka ni ikimasu.

Meaning : I go at 14th of September.

2.  Question  :

Kanji        : いつ アメリカ へ 行きますか。

Hiragana : いつ アメリカ へ いきますか

Romaji     : Itsu Amerika e ikimasuka.

Meaning  : When (do you) go to America ?

Answer    :

Kanji        : 来年の三月 行きます。

Hiragana : らいねんのさんがつ いきます。

Romaji     : Rainen no sangatsu ikimasu.

Meaning : (I) go March next year.

3.   Question :

Kanji        : いつ 病院 へ 行きますか。

Hiragana : いつ びょういん へ いきますか。

Romaji     : Itsu byouin e ikimasuka ?.

Meaning  : When (do you) go the hospital ?.

Answer    :

Kanji        : 今週 の 水曜日 に 行きます。

Hiragana : こんしゅう の すいようび に いきます。

Romaji     : Konshuu no suiyoubi ni ikimasu.

      Meaning : (I) go Wednesday this week.

4.   Question :

Kanji        : いつ 広島 へ 行きますか。

Hiragana : いつ ひろしま へ いきますか。

Romaji     : Itsu Hiroshima e ikimasuka.

Meaning : When (do you) go to Hiroshima ?

Answer    :

Kanji        : 来月に 行きます。

Hiragana  : らいげつに いきます。

Romaji     : Raigetsu ni ikimasu.

Meaning : (I) go next month.
