Japanese Minna no Nihongo Answer Sheet Chapter 19 Section B Part 3 Page 157

The article in this context is for discussing about how to solve the problem set in Minna No Nihongo 1 Book, Chapter 19 Section B Part 3 in page 157. The problems set in that part consists of several images. The grammar pattern in this article is available for answering the problem set.  It is representing on how to list representative activities in a certain time. The following is the grammar pattern of it :

Kanji :
動詞「-たり形」 動詞「-たり形」 します・しました
Hiragana :
どうし「-たりけい」 どうし「-たりけい」 します・しました
Romaji
Doushi [-tari kei] Doushi [-tari kei] shimasu / shimashita
Meaning :
Verb [-tari form] Verb [-tari form] do / done

So, the activities is represented in each verb. It will repeat the pattern until the last activity or the last verb. So, if there are more than two, then repeat the –tari form of the verb. The last activity mentioned or the last verb will have the –shimasu or –shimashita depends on the time of the execution of the activities. The following is an example of the above grammar pattern usage :

 

Kanji :
先週サッカーをしたり温泉を行ったりしました。
Hiragana :
Answer : はい、あります
せんしゅうサッカーをしたりおんせんをいったりしました。
Romaji
Senshuu sakka- wo shitari onsen wo ittari shimashita.
Meaning :
Last week I play soccer and went to an onsen (Japanese hot spring)

 

The above grammar pattern is –‘tari suru’ or ‘–tari shimasu’ for the polite form. But since the activities is done in the previous week, the grammar pattern will have ‘-tari shimashita’ acts as a suffix for the last verb. Every verb mentioned and represented all the activities will have ‘-tari’ form suffix except the last one. The purpose for using this grammar pattern is to mention what is a person do or done in a specific time. It is mentioning the list of the activities that represent what the subject do or has done in that specific time without having to think about the order or the sequence. The above example is listing multiple activities or actions such as play soccer and went to a Japanese hot spring.

 

So, use the picture exist in Minna No Nihongo 1 Book, Chapter 19 Section B Part 3 in page 157 to answer the questions. By seeing the picture or the image, create the sentence by using representative activities, verbs or actions. 1. Answer :

Kanji :

夜はお風呂には至りテレビを見たりします。

Hiragana :

よるはおふろにはいたりテレビをみたりします。

Romaji :

Yoru wa ofuro ni haitari terebi wo mitari shimasu.

Meaning :

At night, I enter the bath tub (I go to bath) and watch television.

 

2. Answer :

Kanji  :

休みの日はデパートで両親と一緒にかばんを買ったりいえで弟と電車のおもちゃをあそんでします。

Hiragana :

やすみのひはデパートでりょうしんといっしょにかばんをかったりいえでおとうとでんしゃのおもちゃをあさんでします。

Romaji :

Yasumi no hi wa depa-to de ryoushin to isshoni kaban wo kattari ie de otouto to densha noomocha wo asonde shimasu.

Meaning :

In the holiday, I buy a bag with my parents at the department store and I play train toys with my brother at home.

 

3. Answer :

Kanji :

昨日は本を読んだりレポートを書いたりしました。

Hiragana :

きのうはほんをよんだりレポートをかいたりしました。

Romaji :

Kinou wa hon wo yondari repo-to wo kaitari shimashita.

Meaning :

Yesterday, I read a book and wrote a report.

 

4. Answer :

Kanji :

一昨日は歯医者を行ったり床屋行ったりしました。

Hiragana :

おとといははいしゃをいったりとこやいったりしますた。

Romaji :

Ototoi wa haisha wo ittari tokoya ittari shimashita.

Meaning :

Two days ago I went to a dentist and a barber.

So, the above is the answer for solving the problem exist in  in Minna no Nihongo Chapter 19 Section B Part 3 in page 157.
