Another series of article about how to ask question and how to answer it in an informal way. So, there are samples are available in Minna no Nihongo 1 Book Chapter 20. Those samples are very useful for answering the problem exist in Minna No Nihongo 1 Book Chapter 20 Section B Part 7 in page 168. It is a problem which consist of formal form sentence. So, the problem will be resolved by changing the sentence.

It is very easy to change it. Actually, changing the adjective, noun and verb into an the informal form or futsuu kei (普通系・ふつうけい ) is the answer. It is the main purpose of the problem in this context. Simply by just erasing or changing the suffix ‘-desu’. It will turn into an informal form and it is the answer. By doing that, the following answers are references and alternatives for answering the question exist in Minna No Nihongo 1 Book Chapter 20 Section C Part 7 in page 168 :

  1. Answer :Kanji  :今何時?

    …5時40分。

    Hiragana :

    いま なんじ?…5じ40ぷん。

    Romaji :

    Ima nanji?

    … 5ji 40pun.

    Meaning :

    What time is it now?

    …(It is) 5:40

  2. Answer :Kanji  :今日 デパートは 休む?

    …ううん、休まない。

    Hiragana :

    きょう デパートは やすむ?

    …ううん、やすまない。

    Romaji :

    Kyou depaato wa yasumu?…Uun, yasumanai

    Meaning :

    Is department store closed today?…No, it’s not closed.

  3. Answer :Kanji  :犬と 猫と どちらが 好き? …猫の ほうが 好きだ。

    Hiragana :

    いぬと ねこと どちらが すき?

    …ねこの ほうが すきだ。

    Romaji :

    Inu to neko to dochira ga suki?…Neko no hou ga sukida.

    Meaning :

    Which do you like better, dog or cat?

    …I like cat better.

  4. Answer :Kanji  :富士山は どうだった?

    …きれいだった。

    Hiragana :

    ふじさんは どうだった?

    ……きれいだった。

    Romaji :

    Fuji san wa dou datta?…kirei datta.

    Meaning :

    How was Mt. Fuji?…It was beautiful.

All of the above is the answer pattern for solving the problem exist in Minna no Nihongo Chapter 20 Section B Part 7 in page 168.
